BoWex Elastic 42 HE Ø180

BoWex Elastic 42 HE Ø180 is a genuine KTR highly flexible coupling elastomer designed for flexible torque transmission in drive systems powered by diesel and other internal combustion engines. Typical applications include gearboxes, generator sets, compressors, pumps and other industrial or mobile machinery.

This is the standard BoWex Elastic 42 HE execution with an outside diameter of approximately Ø180 mm. It is used with the KTR HE1/HE2 coupling configuration and should be distinguished from SAE-specific BoWex 42 HE versions with larger flange diameters.

The highly flexible elastomer helps reduce torsional vibrations and shock loads while transmitting torque between the engine and driven equipment.

The BoWex Elastic 42 HE Ø180 is available in three Shore hardness variations:

• T40 Shore A – KTR SKU 010420700004
• T50 Shore A – KTR SKU 010420700005
• T65 Shore A – KTR SKU 010420700006

T40 provides the greatest torsional flexibility and softest response, T50 provides an intermediate characteristic, while T65 is considerably stiffer and provides the highest torque capacity of the three versions.

The correct Shore hardness should always be selected according to the original coupling specification and the torsional requirements of the drivetrain. Components with identical external dimensions but different Shore hardnesses should not automatically be considered interchangeable.

The different Shore hardnesses provide substantially different torsional characteristics. Correct selection is therefore important for damping, torsional vibration behaviour and reliable operation of the complete drivetrain.
