CENTAMAX 18000 Coupling Elements – OEM NR SC & SCE Types
The CENTAMAX 18000 is the largest and most powerful torsionally flexible CENTAMAX coupling element produced by CENTA Germany, designed for CAT®, MAN, Deutz, MWM, and Wartsilla engines in marine propulsion, high-output gensets, locomotives, and heavy industrial drives. With a torque range of 16,000–24,000 Nm nominal and peaks up to 40,000 Nm, it is the industry-standard solution for mission-critical power transmission where failure is not an option.
Fitment Types
- Type SC (NR): Standard bolt-through mounting with plain holes. Widely used in CAT 3512 and 3516 engines, marine gensets, and gas generator systems.
- Type SCE (NR): All-threaded hole version, where bolts are tightened directly into the element from the hub side. Required in many OEM layouts for CAT, MAN, and Deutz.
Both SC and SCE deliver identical torque, damping, and performance values, with the choice determined by engine manufacturers during TVA (torsional vibration analysis).
Shore Hardness Options
- Available in Shore 50, 60, 70, 72, 75, 80
- Natural Rubber (NR, black) elastomer
- Temperature range: –45 °C to +80 °C
- SAE J620 flywheels: typically SAE 21 or SAE 24
