CENTAMAX 3500 Coupling Elements – OEM NR & Silicone (SC & SCE Types)
The CENTAMAX 3500 is a torsionally flexible coupling element developed by CENTA Germany for marine generator sets, stationary diesel gensets, and heavy-duty industrial engines. With a torque capacity of around 3,200–3,800 Nm nominal and up to 8,500 Nm peak, this size is widely used where vibration damping, torque stability, and long service life are critical.
Available Fitment Types
- Type SC – Standard OEM mounting with plain bolt-through holes.
- Type SCE – Alternative OEM mounting with threaded holes, bolts tightened directly into the element.
Both fitments provide identical torque and damping values, with the choice defined by the engine or genset manufacturer.
NR vs. Silicone Options
- Natural Rubber (NR): Black elements, available in Shore 50, 60, 70. The standard OEM choice for most marine and industrial applications.
- Silicone (Si): Bright yellow elements, engineered for high-temperature environments such as roadbuilding machinery, asphalt pavers, drilling rigs, and enclosed gensets. Silicone elements resist thermal degradation, oils, and ozone while providing stable damping across a wide temperature range (–45 °C to +120 °C).
