CENTAMAX 5000 Coupling Elements – OEM NR & Silicone (SC & SCE Types)

The CENTAMAX 5000 is a torsionally flexible OEM coupling element designed by CENTA Germany for heavy-duty diesel engines in marine, roadbuilding, drilling, and industrial power systems. With a nominal torque range of approx. 5,000–6,500 Nm and peaks up to 13,000 Nm, this size is among the most requested CENTAMAX elements worldwide.

Fitment Types

  • Type SC (NR or Silicone): Standard OEM fitment with plain bolt-through holes — the most common solution for gensets, compressors, and roadbuilding machinery.
  • Type SCE (NR): Alternative OEM fitment with threaded holes, where bolts screw directly into the element. Used in specific engine-driven installations or compact layouts.
    Both designs deliver identical torque, stiffness, and damping values — only the mounting method differs, as specified by engine manufacturers.

NR vs. Silicone Options

  • Natural Rubber (NR, black color): Available in Shore 50, 60, 70, this version is standard in marine propulsion, diesel gensets, and industrial drives.
  • Silicone (Si, bright yellow): Typically supplied as SC fitment, silicone is the OEM choice for high-temperature duty in asphalt pavers, drilling rigs, crushers, and enclosed power units. Silicone resists heat, oil, and ozone while maintaining elasticity at –45 °C to +120 °C.
